AWCON: Oparanozie, Oshoala, Ohale make CAF Best XI

Super Falcons striker, Desire Oparanozie, scorer of Nigeria’s lone and winning goal in the final of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Cup of Nations for Women, is one of the three Nigerian players listed in the CAF best eleven for the tournament.

Also included are her teammates, Assisat Oshoala, top scorer of the tournament with six goals, and Osinachi Ohale. Two other Falcons, goalkeeper, Alaba Jonathan and defender Francisca Ordega, were listed as substitutes.

The list released after the tournament also featured the tournament’s best player, Gabrielle Onguene of Cameroun, her teammate and goalkeeper of the Indomitable Lionesses, Annette Ndom, Ghana’s Linda Eshun and South Africa’s Janine Van Wyk.
