Nigeria’s Super Eagles fell 2-1 to England’s Three Lions in an international friendly game played in London on Saturday.
The match was part of both teams’ preparation for the 2018 World cup, which kicks off in Russia on June 14, 2018.
England struck gold in the 7th minute through Gary Cahill with Tottenham Hotspurs’ Harry Kane doubling the lead on 39 minutes. The Eagles pulled one back in the 47th minute through Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi but were unable to draw level.
The defeat is the Eagles’ third in their tune up for the World cup with other losses coming in the games against Serbia(0-2) and Spanish clubside, Atletico Madrid(2-3).
Nigeria’s last international friendly before the World cup is on June 6 against Czech Republic.
